Our Values
Diversity, equity, and inclusion may be mere buzzwords to the authoritarian right, but we know that these principles are foundational to a free society that values liberty and justice for all. Consequently we strive to include and elevate voices from a variety of identities and backgrounds. In the words of our national organization: “Our opponents depend on a divide and conquer strategy, so we treat an attack on one like an attack on all. We show up for each other, and particularly for those facing the brunt of rightwing ideologues’ attacks.”
The Indivisible Project Our Local Code of Conduct
Nonviolence
We reject all politically-motivated violence and intimidation. Creating enduring positive change requires a resilient community and a foundation of trust, neither of which are compatible with movements built upon violence. However, we also reject appeasement as a response to fascism and authoritarianism – we stand up for all people threatened by oppression. We live in frightening times, but ground ourselves in courage through solidarity.
Our Commitment To NonviolenceLocal Leadership
As a local chapter of a national grassroots movement we look to our statewide and national counterparts for inspiration & guidance. However, most decisions about our group’s initiatives, actions, and events are made here at the local level. We empower our local membership to develop and enact their ideas for ongoing actions.
