On October 18, 2025, over a thousand people filled the Pentacrest and marched through downtown Iowa City for No Kings 2. The rally was part of a nationwide movement that brought millions of people into the streets across all 50 states. Data journalist G. Elliott Morris estimated turnout at 5 to 6.5 million and called it “very likely the biggest single-day protest event since 1970.”
